Chapter Projects
In the section, Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI) chapters around the U.S. and in Canada report on the latest Green Tables programs undertaken by their respective memberships.
If your chapter is considering undertaking a Green Tables program in your community, or has one underway, this is a great place to find inspiration and share information.
Green Tables Chapter projects are streamlined under three themes, Education, Advocacy and Philanthropy, all of which support the LDEI mission.
EDUCATION
• Our members create and deliver food- and nutrition-based educational programs to schools, chefs, farmers and communities. We organize field trips for students to see farms and farmers markets, we help create and harvest food gardens, and we teach cooking in classrooms and at farmers markets.
ADVOCACY
• Our members organize farmer-chef conferences and partner with other locally based food organizations to promote local, sustainable food sources within each community.
PHILANTHROPY
• Our members raise thousands of dollars to support local food, farming and gardening projects from farmers markets and school and rehabilitative gardens to educational programs and scholarships.
We hope you find inspiration here among the chapter project reports, and we look forward to posting your chapter’s Green Tables successes soon!
To post information and photos about your chapter’s Green Table projects, contact Greg Jewell, ldei@aecmanagement.com. Please submit photos as high resolution jpegs and include captions.
